This portrait is likely the earliest sketch of Julian Bream by Derek Hill.

The portrait was dispalyed at Broad Oak House, Semley, Dorset and later at Bream's home

The sketch portrait was auctioned off by Semley Auctioneers.

The proceeds of the sale went to the Julian Bream Trust.
The portrait is currently in a private collection in the United States.
An image of this portrait was originally displayed on the Home page of The Julian Bream Trust website.

The image was changed to the Derek Hill portrait at the top of this page during the first JB Trust website revision after Julian Bream's passing.

Derek Hill was the first professional artist to sketch and paint portraits of Julian Bream as a young artist. Both of these works were likely painted in the mid 1950s.
